What is EOI?
So, what is an EOI?
Well, EOI is nothing but an online application. It shows that you have the required skills to apply for a skilled visa to migrate to Australia. In other words, this application states why you meet the eligibility to apply for a skilled visa to Australia.
Remember your expression of interest is the first step towards stating your intention to make an Australian visa application. However, it is essential to note that you can present your EOI only after you have completed an assessment and the Department selects you to make an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Australian Visa categories that require to submit an EOI application
The next question that may strike you is which visa categories require the submission of the EOI. In this section, you will get all your answers.
You can submit your EOI application for:
- Skilled-Independent (Permanent) Visa (Subclass 189): This is a permanent visa category. Only those who are qualified to contribute to the growth of the Australian economy can apply for it. To apply for this visa, you must be sponsored by the employer.
- Skilled-Nominated (Permanent) Visa (Subclass 190): Subclass 190 allows nominated skilled professionals to live and work in the country as permanent residents.
- Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 489): This visa type helps skilled people to migrate and work in regional Australia. After getting the Subclass 489, the visa holder can apply for the Skilled Regional (Permanent) Visa.
The entire process of an EOI SkillSelect application
It is pretty easy to apply for an EOI application. Therefore, even if you are a newbie visa applicant, filling up the expression of interest SkillSelect application will not be tough.
As we have already stated, EOI is an online application, and you can find it by visiting the Australian government website SkillSelect. And here is the process to apply for it.
Step 1 of EOI process
After visiting the SkillSelect website, accept the Terms and Conditions. After that, you must complete the personal detail information to create your account. For instance, you would need to provide your name, date of birth, country of birth, passport and citizenship details, gender, place of residency, and relationship status.
Step 2 of Expression Of Interest application
Confirm the information you have put in and provide your email id to create your SkillSelect account. Following this, you will receive your expression of interest identification number via email, which you must preserve for later use.
Step 3 – EOI identification
Sign in to your account by using your EOI identification number and password. After that, to move forward with your application, you would need to provide information about your
- Visa type
- English language test details
- Education and qualifications details
- Skills Assessment
- Employment history
- Review and declarations.
And you are all done! There is nothing more left to be done except wait for the invitation to apply for the actual visa.
